Family immigration

We strongly believe in the unity of the family and the right of the child to be brought up by both parents. We are passionate about our work and proud to have brought together hundreds of families.

The immigration rules contain provisions for spouses, civil partners and unmarried partner of persons present and settled in the UK, their children under the age of 18, dependent parents and other dependent relatives. There are also rules for dependant family members (partners and children) of migrants under the Points Based System, refugees, migrants with ancestry visas and some other categories.

UKBA has announced its intention to change its policy in relation to family immigration and tighten provisions for spouse visa and dependant family member's visa.  For some migrant categories, provisions for dependants have been withdrawn (as for domestic workers with 2012 changes) or significantly curtailed (for students since 2011).

It is expected that further changes to the rules on UK spouse visa will include a rise of  the income threshold for the sponsoring (UK based) spouse.  The exact figures have not yet been announced. For discussion of the proposal of the Migration Advisory Committee see our news article of 16 November 2011.

Although most of the rules for dependent family members remain seemingly easy to follow, evidential requirements have become notoriously intricate.  Our experience and in-depth knowledge of both legal and procedural side of the application process will ensure that your case is presented at its strongest and your chances of success are maximised.
