EEA Applications

We specialise in free movement rights of EEA workers and their family members and assist with applications for EEA family permits, residence cards, retained right of residence and permanent residence. 

EEA nationals enjoy an automatic right to live in the UK provided they do not become unreasonable burden on the public purse.  The rules governing the right of residence of their family members who are not EEA nationals in their own right, are considerably more complex.  These rules are derived from EU legislation and its transposition into domestic provisions, and further developed by the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union and decisions of national courts and tribunals.

EU law on free movement of workers is much more generous to family members of EEA nationals than domestic immigration rules are to family members of British Citizens. We often advise clients on their eligibility to benefit from the more generous provisions.
